LOCATION:
Langford Market [2905 District Ave., Suite 135, Fairfax; 703-942-6879; langfordmarket.com]
DESTINATION:
Langford Market is one of many shops within Merrifield’s new Mosaic District. The center features an eclectic group of handpicked retailers, and each was chosen for specific attributes that would contribute to the overall vibe.
ATMOSPHERE & ATTITUDE:
The apparel and gifts shop caters to three generations of customers—college students, their mothers and even their grandmothers. Rich color palettes mix and match interesting earthy hues, which exudes a flea-markets-from-around-the-world feeling; though, the shop’s styled mannequins, with beautifully layered outfits, still look structured and put-together. There is nothing kitschy about the collections.
BREAD & BUTTER:
Langford Market is all about customer service and digging into the psyche of buyers to find out just who they are and what they want. The store’s staff is determined to create an exciting, pleasant shopping experience for women of all ages.
SWEET SURPRISES:
Antique décor adds bohemian charm to the boutique’s interior. Not only will the store’s staff make you feel like you’re shopping on the streets of Europe but the unique housewares on display throughout the shop are for sale. Now you can incorporate Langford Market’s artistic style in your own abode.
FIERCEST FANS:
Brand manager Davina Hirsh says the store’s typical customer is a 30-something career woman. The shopper has stamps in her passport from visiting far corners of the earth, and she enjoys reading and going out with her friends for fancy meals.
BLOWS TO THE BUDGET:
Shoppers may be surprised to learn that Langford Market’s enviable array is affordable. Everything generally falls under $100.
